The Chinese statesman, Sun Yat-Sen once said,

“To understand is hard. Once you understand, Action is easy.”

This rings true in every thing one may wish to accomplish, not only in building a business or trying to make money, but also in virtually every aspect of our everyday life. It is one of those natural laws to which we must adhere in order to reach our goals in life.

I recall as a young boy, my grandmother told me to go to the clothespress and get a poke. When she said this, I was absolutely stumped. First, I had no clue where or what the ‘clothespress’ was and secondly even if I did, I do not think I knew what a poke looked like.

With the puzzled look on my face, my grandmother soon realized that I did not understand her. So she took me by the hand, walked me into the den, and pointed out a closet, saying, “This is a clothespress” She opened the closet door and pulled out a brown paper bag, and exclaimed, this is a poke!

I now understood what she wanted me to do, and at any time, in the future I would be able to accomplish the task of going to the clothespress and getting a poke.

It is the same in the business world; sometimes we do not understand certain aspects although we may know what we want to accomplish. Although there are people who will tell you to do this or do that, you must first understand the how to, the lingo, and the process in order to take action and accomplish your goals.

Understanding the process of making money

understanding the principles and the procedures by which you can make money is the first step in actually making money. I have found that many people will tell you ways to make money, and they will even reveal some of the procedures, however they fail to ensure you fully understand the process or strategy. Just like Grandma telling me to get her a poke, she knew what she wanted, but until I knew what a poke was, I could not possibly get it for her.

If you are having difficulty in making money online, or in your business in general, you must not only learn but you MUST understand. The key to understanding is to ask questions and further your knowledge. Before you purchase a book or course to make money, you should make sure there is a valid support email where you can direct your questions or ask for a better understanding of the methods in the book.

Unlike in the brick and mortar world, if you buy a book, there is a rare chance you will ever get the opportunity to chat with the author. However, online this is almost an everyday occurrence. You can email and directly ask questions of the author in most cases. If you are unsure whether the seller would be responsive, send an email before you purchase. This way you know that someone is there to help you understand and ultimately once you understand, you can take action!
